For the first time this year, the Club has run a ladder competition whereby players challenge those above them on the ladder to a match. If the challenger wins then he/she moves up the ladder to the losers place and the loser moves down to the challengers place. The format is, Singles matches over 2 sets of 7 ends each with a 1 end tie-breaker if necessary. The matches are played at mutually agreed times, there being no set timetable as in the leagues. However, at least 6 matches will have to have been played during the course of the winter season to be able to receive the winners trophy and prize money

                                                                     2nd        Beth Richardson

                                                                     3rd        Steve Manton

Well, it's the end of the season. Congratulations to Roger Hill and everyone who managed to play the minimum of 6 matches. I hope you all enjoyed the bowling, I certainly did!

Unfortunately Ron Morris and Brian Halsey had to drop off the ladder due to unforeseen circumstances and there were a few of you who did not manage to play many matches, notably Gary Langford who did not play any, for reasons unknown to myself.

I really hope that most of you will continue to play in this competition next season together with some new bowlers.

As already indicated, next season the matches will be 2 sets of 8 ends with the 1 end tie-break, but will only go ahead if there is support, so please get your entry forms in ASAP.

The initial starting positions on next season's ladder will be determined by a random draw.

Thank you everyone and I will see you all at the Club Presentation Evening where Roger will receive the winners Trophy and prize money.

Steve Manton
